This last month, GWE had the opportunity to join a large number of Graduate Student organizations in hosting Dr. Talithia Williams, professor of mathematics at Harvey Mudd and a distinguished speaker committed to rebranding STEM fields as inclusive, engaging, and crucial to the future of the country.
She spoke about the achievement gap in STEM higher education along racial, gender, and socioeconomic lines. She engaged us in thought provoking questions and provided us with insight to go out and make changes through our organizations.
