Why she's in GWE: While being part of the industry for quite some time, I was able to witness the lack of women representation, especially in the STEM field. Coming back to grad school, I want to be part of a support group that leads the change and encouragement for women and minorities representation in this field.   
Favorite GWE Event: Speaker series is one of my favorites because we are able to engage with very talented and successful people and learn from their lives, career paths and even ask for tips!

Why she's in GWE: It’s a great way to meet and connect with other women in my department and in other engineering departments. As well as a great support community and group to volunteer and do outreach with.
Favorite GWE Event: GWE buddies program! It was a great way to learn more about GWE and get to know another member during my first year.

Stephanie Eberly – Outreach Co-Chair

Degree Program: Mechanical Engineering, Ph.D Candidate 
Why she's in GWE: Since Mechanical Engineering is a heavily male dominated field, I joined GWE in search of a community of women.  I hope through GWE to help create a supportive, encouraging, and fun space for women to come together and push each other to achieve their potential. I strongly believe that I am only as strong as the woman next to me.  
Favorite GWE Event: My favorite part of GWE so far has been the mentorship program.  Especially starting my time at Berkeley during the pandemic, having a mentor provided me with someone to offer me guidance, vocalize my doubts to, and encourage me to continue onwards.

Why she's in GWE: I'm in GWE because it's an awesome community of womxn who share similar values and experiences. I'm also passionate about getting more girls and young womxn into STEM and think GWE is a great platform through which to do that.
Favorite GWE Event: The GWE summer picnic – was so nice to see everyone after a very long time!

Why she's in GWE: SWE was a huge part of my undergrad and I wanted to continue being in a community that promotes and provides resources to women and minorities in engineering. It has also given me the opportunity to meet and work with other grad students from different departments.

Favorite GWE Event: Attending the GradSWE weSTEM Conference in Illinois was so inspiring; it motivated me for a tough semester!!!

Why she’s in GWE: My goal is to create a community to support womxn in STEM. I want to provide resources, opportunities, and connections to mentors to help womxn overcome barriers and navigate challenges they may come across in their graduate and post-graduate career.
Favorite GWE Event: The Ice Cream Social! It was a fun, casual event to start the year. The variety of toppings & flavors were a great ice breaker to get to know new students.
