GWE will be hosting a PhD 101 series this fall for new and returning graduate students! This is a great way to learn things about graduate school that aren’t covered in orientation.

This would be a good session for undergraduates to attend! Topics may include:

  • Virtual Seminar/Workshop/Panel Discussion
  • Topics to discuss are specifically tips for writing applications.

  • Best practices for living in the Bay Area
  • sustainable practices (composting)
  • taking AC transit
  • getting your California residency requirements established
  • All things DMV
  • Fulfilling social needs (sports clubs, music clubs, outreach/teaching clubs, art classes)

Career Center Workshop

December 2nd 6 PM – 7 PM.
Ask successful women from academia, industry, government and non-traditional career paths about what it is like to be in their professions, what challenges they faced, and how they have overcome those challenges.
