Sign up here to be paired with a SWE member for a 1-1 coffee chat the week of March 15! Chat about anything you’d like, including work-life balance, your reasons for attending grad school, and generally about post-undergrad life. Up to $10 will be reimbursed for food/drinks to participants who are GWE members on CalLink.

Women in Tech Symposium
March 12, 2021 from 9am to 6pm

The 5th Annual Women in Tech Symposium: The New Era in Human-Computer Interaction, hosted by CITRIS and the Women in Tech Initiative is major annual event will showcase issues, sector opportunities, and the career paths of experts in human-computer interaction (HCI). Now entering a new era, human-computer interaction is a multidisciplinary field that combines new technology in cyber-physical systems with human-centered design and usability. This year’s symposium will examine leading-edge technologies and challenges to ensuring equitable and inclusive HCI.

Panel in Diversity, equity and inclusion in STEM
Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at 11am

Anne Baranger, our newly appointed Associate Dean for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, will facilitate a discussion with College of Chemistry alumni on their personal and professional experiences with DEI in higher education and various industries. Don’t miss the chance to ask your questions and hear from these leaders about their thoughts on this important topic within our community. The panelists:
  • Dr. Chrissy Stachl (she/ella): Director of Education, Outreach, and Diversity at the National Science Foundation Center for Genetically Encoded Materials (C-GEM)
  • Javit Drake: Principal Engineer at Procter & Gamble in Boston, MA, Lecturer, and battery researcher at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology
  • Linda Chen: 20 years of marketing, general management, and leadership experience across a variety of top-tier multinational branded companies and B2B enterprise SaaS companies
