Speaker Series Finale this Thursday
Dr. Vi Rapp: March 17th 6-7 PM

The Graduate Women in Engineering (GWE) Speaker Series continues with our fourth and final event on Thursday March 17th from 6-7pm in the 630 Bechtel Conference room in Sutardja Dai Hall! The speaker series provides current engineering graduate students with the opportunity to hear the stories of successful women engineers from different backgrounds and walks of life. Come hear the story of Dr. Vi Rapp, Research Scientist and Department Deputy at LBL. We will touch on topics including the choices faced when deciding on the next steps after graduate school, navigating one's career, and balancing personal and professional decisions. Due to space limitations, please fill out this RSVP if you plan to attend, and dinner will be provided after the event for in-person attendees. If you are unable to attend but would still like to watch, we will provide a live broadcast (Meeting ID: 931 2801 7965 and Passcode: 436419).
GWE Community Outreach Event
Berkeley Rose Garden
April 10th 11:30 AM-2:30 PM

The GWE Outreach chairs will be coordinating an afternoon of volunteering at the Berkeley Rose Garden in conjunction with City of Berkeley Parks. We will be working on beautifying the garden for an upcoming Mother’s Day event. Work will be focused on primarily weeding and debris removal – all necessary tools will be provided but bring gardening gloves if you have them. Reach out to Laura Treers and/or Stephanie Eberly if you plan to attend so we can get a headcount! (ltreers@berkeley.edu and sgeberly@berkeley.edu)
Don’t miss out our upcoming social events

Look out for more communication on upcoming events this spring! Speed dating is 4/1 and glow-in-the-dark frisbee and ice cream is 4/27. Check out the flyer for more info!
